[Tutorial] How to change the default search engine in the Firefox address bar

The other day I told you how to change the default search engine for Opera, so that the set engine will be the one used when you type in the address bar. You can also do the same with Firefox as well.

Similar to Opera, you can set your default search engine for the search box. For the address bar the search engine used is Google, using it's HTTPS search feature. If you wish not use Google and use something else, you'll have to get your hands dirty. You'll have to make a change in about:config, and then the change will be effective immediately.

A little info behind Outlook.com in Firefox

Many of you here in Techman's World know that I am a web developer, or at least I know a lot about web technologies (excluding JS). I decided to look into how Outlook.com is actually displayed on the page. Most people don't care, but there has to be someone out there that has interest in how stuff works.

My horrible experience using Safari for Windows

Me being myself, I use many web browsers in my day. Of course you all know that I use Chrome as my default, but I also use IE (for testing stuff only), Firefox, Opera, and Safari for Windows. If you never knew, I do use Safari for Windows, and I use it basically for one thing - hits development tools. Specifically, the ability to change user agents from the develop menu. I can change from IE 7, 8, and 9, Opera 11.64 (outdated, but I'd just use Opera by itself anyways if I need to use it), mobile Safari for iPod, iPhone, and iPad, and so on.

Google Chrome claims one-third of global browser share, according to StatCounter

It looks like Google Chrome is soaring again. This time around, it is making it way up the global charts.

As you can see from the chart above, Chrome is soaring up the charts, while IE is sitting still, and Firefox is falling. Safari is also on the chart, sitting at around 7%, and has seemed to gone up. As far as Opera goes, it either went up or went down depending on how you see the image, but from my perspective it seems to either went down or has stayed the same.

Techman's World...in 3D!

So recently I was using Ubuntu on my dad's computer, and decided to load my site on Firefox. You see, if you didn't know, my computer is not so good. It is 6 years old. It has lived its days....

But anyways, I was using Firefox's web inspector, and decided to tour Techman's World in 3D.

Go ahead and soak up the image below :). Click to enlarge it, because is small to fit in the blog post.

Oh, and this was in Intel Graphics. Cool isn' t it?
