I'm leaning towards a gradient as a replacement for the background image, and it will most certainly contain the classic green and blue colors (hopefully anyways).
The decision to lean towards a gradient isn't a very hard one either -- These days it's relatively easy to make a gradient using tools such as GIMP and Adobe Photoshop. I remember when a friend of mine actually made a gradient using hand picked pixels -- boy was that time consuming.
Prototype
Here's a very early prototype of a gradient I was thinking of. By no means will this become the final product. It doesn't even have accurate color matches of the green and blue used here! This was more or less ideas I threw together in Photoshop a few days ago. The gradient is very high in resolution, but is a compressed PNG so it isn't as graphically intense as you might think it is. 800kb seems fairly small, so I'll roll with what resolution I picked.
I call this the Noodle gradient. Don't ask how I thought of that name :) |
Although I am rather busy IRL, I do spend time to work on my site, even if it is as small as designing gradients.
