CCleaner 4.0 released, features new icon, improved cleaning, and more!

CCleaner, the widely used Windows and Mac system cleaning tool (and even endorsed by me), has released 4.0 yesterday.

While the upgrade isn't exactly "huge", it is significant  It marks the arrival of a updated logo, cleaning support for more software, and other updates. One of the most notable updates is the change in the CCleaner logo. To the right, you can see a picture of CCleaner's new logo, in the form of the desktop icon.

Here's the change log for this release:
  • New improved graphics and icon.
  • Improved internal architecture for better performance.
  • New Duplicate File Finder tool.
  • New System and Browser Monitoring (Pro Version).
  • Optimized and improved Registry Cleaning.
  • Added cleaning for Avast Antivirus 8, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Samsung Kies and Real Player 16.
  • Improved Drive Wiper performance.
  • Optimized Startup item detection algorithm.
  • Optimized 64-bit builds on Windows 7 and 8.
  • Many performance improvements and bug fixes.
Unless you have update checking turned off, CCleaner should be telling you about an update being available the next time you open it. If you just want to update manually without opening CCleaner you can do so by clicking here.

What do you think about the update?
