We finally have some sales numbers. Sony has announced that they have sold 2.2 million PlayStation Vita's as of June 30th. If you do the math, that amounts to roughly 250,000 a month since it passed the 1.2 million mark back in February. In an interview with PlayFront, German boss Uve Bassendowski blamed the slow sales on the company ignoring young customers to court a more grown-up demographic -- but would redress that balance soon.
As for the Nintendo 3DS, it has sold over 3 million units at the same time, and this is after slashing the price a little, something that Sony has ruled out this year.
Do you think that it was a bad decision for Sony to rule out a price drop this year? Let me know of your thoughts in the comments below.
