Ever since the announcement of Ratchet & Clank's 10 year anniversary, the PS Blog received  a flood of emails and social media messages asking about when people can get their hands on the Ratchet and Clank Collection in North America.
I got good news for you to day; the remaster of three original PS2 Ratchet & Clank games will be available at retailers and via PlayStation Network on August 28th for a stunning price of $29.99!

This package will contain 3 HD 1080p remasters of 3 PS2 classics: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. In addition, these games will have Trophy support (required for a all games coming out on the PS3 due to a requirement, but still nice nevertheless), and 3D support at a resolution of 720p.

For  multiplayer, folks over at Idol Minds have restored online play to Up Your Arsenal. At last, those who missed out on competitive R&C gameplay during the PS2 Network Adapter era can finally check it out!
Now now, the PS Blog does know that this collection is hitting the US a little later than it did in Europe and Japan. Don't worry, the PS Blog has some cool items to make up for the time delay. They are doing the following to reward you for lost time:

  • They're giving you exclusive first access to the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo when you purchase the Collection
  • You’ll receive a special Ratchet & Clank 10th anniversary avatar
Everyone is happy that this is coming now. Insomniac Games has said to stay tuned to their Twitter and Facebook pages for updates.

If you are still wanting some more Ratchet & Clank action, they have a new game coming out later this year, called Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault.
