Twitter releases an app for Windows 8

Today Twitter has released an app for Windows 8 that is designed to make it easier to share to Twitter from Windows 8 devices. The app not only provides the standard Home, Connect, Discover, and Me tabs, but also has features specific to Windows 8.

Snap view allows Twitter to be snapped to the left or the right of the screen, allowing you to use another app as well. This will allow you to keep up with things happening on Twitter, while also watching a video, reading a news story, etc. You could even read a Techman's World article :)

Photos were important in making this app. Twitter says that photos will be 'large and center', with a new horizontal view that will allow you to swipe to view multiple photos in the discover tab of a user's profile. Tapping a photo will make it go full screen.

With the Twitter for Windows 8 app you can also share to Twitter from any application, at any time. A new search charm feature has arrived that allows you to search people via their profile name and tweets, all by swiping the right edge of Windows 8 and choosing the search charm. Finally, with the use of live tiles, notifications should be seamless.
