Yesterday I posted a rather short, but informative post about the new System76 all in one PC. There was not that much details released about the new computer. It didn't even have a name, but it does, and it makes sense. From the title above, introducing the Sable Complete!
First off, I want to ask you this: What do you honestly think that this machine costs, just by looking at the image above? If you thought thousands of dollars, as a base price, then I'm very glad to tell you that you were wrong. The starting base price of the Sable Complete is just a mere $799 USD. For a price that low, you would think that the internal guts might have been limiting, or the guts are minimal at base config. Also wrong.
The display features a crisp 21.5" full high definition 1080p LED backlit display. The panel features edge-to-edge glass, and a industrial design. Aluminum trimming is also present.
The Sable Complete features options from 3rd generation CORE i5 and i7 processors. The base processor is the Intel Core i5 3470S. The guts are 2.90 GHz with 6MB cache , with 4 Cores. The graphics for this desktop is Intel integrated graphics on board. You will get the HD graphics 2500 when you choose a CORE i5 processor, or the HD 4000 when you get the CORE i7 processor. As far as RAM goes, the base config features 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) of Crucial Dual Channel DDR3 running at 1600 MHz. That's fast RAM for those that don't know.
The Sable Complete also comes complete (pun intended) with built in speakers, webcam, and microphone. In regards to the speakers, those are actually a piece of art! These speakers are the Kardon Sound Sticks III. System76 says that they offer "audio you can feel with exceptional style." Of course no one really knows how good the sound is going to be, not until reviews flow out. The model's predecessor, the Harman Kardon Sound Sticks II are on permanent display at the New York Museum of Modern Art if you are interested in looking at that as well.
Here are the base specs, as listed directly from the press release.
System76 has said that they are VERY pleased with their newest desktop, so I'll have to ask how first day sales will be, if they release that kind of information from me. You can get a full set of press pictures below, straight from System76. Click to enlarge the photos.
