Microsoft has a new logo

Do you remember that Microsoft Store logo? Well if you remember that, you already have a gist of what the new logo looks like.

What you see above is not mistake -- this is the new Microsoft logo, and it is here to stay. This comes just a few months later after the new Windows 8 logo was introduced, dropping the iconic Windows "Flag" from the logo, instead being replaced with small squares tilted.

It has been a quarter century since Microsoft has changed its logo, and now it has changed. This move also shows a new simplicity from the old logo. Sure, not everyone is going to jump over this with love and full support (including me), but I guess the changes will eventually stick to you after a few days, weeks, months, or even years after you have been exposed to the new logo.

According to the official blog post, the logo is composed using two different elements: the logotype and symbol. The logo is already across the 10th most visited website in the world, but will soon start appearing everywhere. It is in three Microsoft retail stores today (Boston, Seattle’s University Village and Bellevue, Wash.) and will shine brightly in their stores over the next few months. Microsoft says that it will sign off their television ads globally. And it will support our products across various forms of marketing.
What do you think about this? A nice, short video is embedded below.
