Update to Google Maps improves battery life, public transit options and more

If you haven't noticed already, a new version of Google Maps has made its way to the Android Market. It is said to have better location tracking within Latitude and better battery life, which is what I believed is some warmly welcomed changes. And for Transit-minded people, navigation has been updated to better estimate location when GPS signal is lost, and the number of route options for public transit users has been increased from three to four.

Any thoughts on this?
