Jailbreaking exemption to DMCA is about to expire

Back in 2010, the US Copyright office added a piece of writing to the DMCA that stated that users were allowed to hack/root their phones. These changes were never permanent (sadly), and is now almost ready to expire.

There is some that don't like this. Those people are the EFF. They are encouraging the Copyright office to renew it. They are wanting the promote the Jailbreaking cause, they say.Now only that, they want them to stretch what can already be hacked to other devices, such as game consoles and tablets. To help them tell the Copyright office this, the EFF is calling on developers to directly contact the Copyright office to extend the time the change is in effect, and if possible, expand it to other devices.
