BREAKING-Sony's Kaz Hirai to step up as president as early as April (Updated)

According to Nikkei, they are reporting that Sony will be promoting current Executive Deputy President Kazuo "Kaz" Hirai to president as soon as April, while Howard Stringer is expected to remain chairman and CEO of the company. If you recall, Sony started its search for a new president last November, and being that Kaz Hirai has been promoted in the past twice (Executive Deputy President in April and to Sony Computer Entertainment Chairman in September), he would be a likely choice to become the new president. If this goes through, it will still be a while to see his changes and what he does to the company take affect.

UPDATE: Bloomberg has received a statement from Sony clarifying that the board has not yet made a decision on this promotion. But this is not really a denial of the current rumors that has gone around.

And for a little entertainment, here is Kaz Hirai doing the "It's a Ridge Racer" from a few years back. I hope you enjoy.
