AT&T to adjust data plans January 22nd

Good news and some bad news. Some of the good news is that the carrier will now offer you larger data plans. The bad news is, you guessed it, higher prices. The plans are 300MB of data for $20, 3GB for $30 and 5GB (includes mobile hotspot access) for $50, will take be taking effect beginning this Sunday.

Another piece of good news: people who were grandfathered into an unlimited data plan will not be forced to switch unless you desire to do so. But keep in mind, that once you switch to a new plan, the grandfathering will go away and will never return. I don't see who would do that anyways, being that unlimited is unlimited, and these plans are for a set price, and is not unlimited.

There is going to be one plan that is going to stick around. That is AT&T's 250MB tablet feature for $15.

So, do you think that it is worth paying an extra $5 for that extra gig of data?
